Instead of creating a traditional Christmas ad for its 2016 holiday season, H&M decided to enlist the help of director Wes Anderson and London agency adam&eveDDB to create a delightful short film starring Adrien Brody.
The ad takes place on a train during the holidays, but due to bad weather the train is delayed. The conductor, played by Brody, and his co-workers arrange a Christmas surprise for all the passengers on board. The film, like all of Anderson’s works, pays special attention to detail and is unsurprisingly enchanting. And most importantly, all the actors in the film are wearing H&M’s holiday line.
“The winter train ride, under Wes Anderson’s direction, is the perfect setting for H&M’s holiday collection full of relaxed, wearable elegance,” said H&M’s head of design and creative director Pernilla Wohlfahrt. “It’s about mixing the informal with a sense of occasion, capturing the holiday mood for both dressing up and getting cosy with loved ones.”
“This story may resonate more than ever at a time in the world where we could all do with giving a stranger a hug,” said Brody.
