This Is What Happens When A Festival Goes Green

Cancel your holiday plans because you’re gonna want to go to Thailand instead. This winter in Pattaya, Thailand, Wonderfruit, Thailand’s world-renowned camping festival, is offering eclectic entertainment while making large strides towards becoming one of the top sustainable festivals in the world. In an effort to offset their carbon footprint, they’re not only utilizing new sustainable development methods like rice as a building medium, but they’re also investing in the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve in Indonesia, a diverse ecosystem in Indonesia.

The festival, which is being held from December 15th – 18th, is centered on six pillars: arts, music, farm-to-feasts, wellness, family, and workshops. There will be internationally acclaimed musicians, speakers, and a large variety of workshops that will cultivate and inspire creativity and personal responsibility. You can expect to see international music ranging from drum-and-bass group Rudimentary to dance producer Matador as well as popular local artists such as Zero Hero and The Superglass Ska Ensemble.

Festival attendees can feast on local fare and cocktails in the communal dining theater, participate in culinary workshops, or enjoy food from any of the multiple vendors that will be scattered throughout the area. If festival-goers prefer to find balance and rejuvenate, Hatha yoga master Anastasis and Ashtanga master Danny Paradise will be on hand to instruct attendees on wellness and inner strength.

With so many options available ranging from lessons in sustainable living to wellness environments, Wonderfruit has something for everybody. Not only is this festival a treat for anybody looking for an entertaining vacation out in the tropics of Thailand, they’re making efforts to guide people towards sustainable and positive living.
