For the millions of citizens in some of the most economically challenged countries in the world, lack of funding for major programs, no access to loans, and financial instability affects daily life in horrendous ways. Policy-makers and nonprofits are eager to help—but without easy access to the data that informs the most important financial decisions that influence these policies, progress can be slow. InterMedia’s Financial Inclusion Insights program, a partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is determined to get that data into the right hands with their new interactive infographic.
“Through qualitative and quantitative research we provide demand-side insights into consumer’s financial behaviors, and identify pathways so those most in need have the financial tools necessary to improve their economic stability,” the company says.
The interactive infographic contains three years of nationally representative survey data for Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Tanzania and Uganda—eight of the most vulnerable countries in Africa and Asia. The interactive explorer showcases a wealth of data, made easily searchable according to demographic variables. Search financial data by gender, poverty, employment, education, and literacy, as well as a variety of other metrics. Head to the site for the full experience.
