Whimsical Metallic Tape Graffiti Will Brighten Your Day

The best street art is visually arresting and gives you an instant shot of emotion—if only for a second. Sometimes, that’s all you need in your hectic day. That’s why we’re jealous of anyone who stumbles across the metallic tape graffiti made by Cheryl Sorg, a California-based artist whose pieces are a true delight.

Tape graffiti isn’t new (we’ve previously covered the impressive work of Buff Diss, who uses masking tape to create elaborate designs), but Sorg’s technicolor creations stand out like a unicorn dream in the drab gray concrete of urban environments. With only scissors, metallic tape pieces, and her imagination, Sorg crafts the hypnotic patterns—geometric stripes, curves, and knots—in beautiful hues. As chronicled on her Instagram, the pieces truly pop in the outdoors, whether slapped on an underpass or random concrete pillar.

See her recent work below, and make sure to check out her metallic tree rings in her portfolio, too.
