The Lamborghini Aventador. The Ford Mustang GT500. The BMW M3. Some cars are more than transportation; they’re works of art when it comes to engineering and design. It’s no wonder, then, that they have such devoted followings. Romanian designer Octavian Mielu is a huge fan of cars and like any artist inspired by a muse, his new series is devoted to them.
Mielu’s iconic car smoke-art series renders 31 of the world’s most famous cars in all their ghostly glory. From the Ferrari F50 to the Corvette C3, each car is rendered in Mielu’s signature smokey style. The details and colors change from car to car, but all are depicted in the same profile with the same black background.
Mielu says he tried to inject a little of the car’s personality into each image via their specific coloring.
For instance, the Pagani Huayra is a combination of gold (the presentation color) and the purple (from the exhaust system).
The prints are available on Mielu’s Etsy shop. (You should also check out his awesome Star Wars smoke posters.)
