From the groundbreaking Curiosity rover exploring the surface of Mars, to the reality TV funded Mars One project, the world is pushing hard to put the first permanent inhabitants on the surface of another world. Now Enrico Dini, the inventor of a massive 3D printer called D-Shape, is teaming up with the European Space Agency and building innovator Foster + Partners in an attempt to solve one of the most challenging aspects of colonizing another planet: lifting a heavy habitat off earth and getting it there. If you were ever one of those kids who buckled under pressure whenever you had to present something to the class no matter how prepared you were, then you will wish you had Meograph when you were in school. Meograph is a new app intended for journalists, students, teachers, and travelers to make four dimensional presentations. As the story is told, with voice recording capabilities, visuals like embedded youtube videos and pictures are presented simultaneously over GoogleEarth maps and a timeline at the bottom of the screen. Google announced today that it has gotten into the hiking game… and they’re making it a lot easier for those who would rather go there by armchair. Today they released an extensive trail based tour the majestic Grand Canyon. Just like Google Street View, you can now cruise down over 75 miles of trails including the famous Bright Angel and Kaibab Trail. It’s a far sight easier than pulling on those old hiking boots.
