I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for a good quote. In fact the photo library on my iPhone is probably 40% inspirational quotes that I’ve found through various forms of social media. So when I came across these minimalist posters by Tang Yao Hoong with a beautiful design and awesome quotes I was hitting “save” like crazy and thought I would pass them along! His simple, clever designs are as fun as they are creative and each image matches the quote flawlessly.

We’ve covered the clever work of Tang Yau Hoong before, but this Malaysia based designer continues to create positively smart illustrations that really catch the eye and mind. He’s been working recently on a series of ‘Surreal Light’ pieces that play with the representation of the light beam and in so doing bends the possibilities of reality and illuminates us with his subtly upbeat message. Design is so refreshing when it reveals its clever side and makes us think; and that’s just what artist/freelance designer Tang Yau Hoong’s illustrations do. By a creative use of negative space and a persistent re-imagining of objects, his work is entertaining as it is smart. Besides occasionally producing prints of his work Hoong has many snappy t-shirt versions of his designs printed through Threadless.
