All the wildest sports, the fastest moving objects, the most intricate parts of science, seem to have been captured in beautiful quality over the years. Thanks to slow motion video technology we have seen time slowed down to a crawl, showcasing the most amazing things in a kind of clarity that cannot be seen at full speed: from a speeding bullet to a monstrous wave at Teahupoo, It’s as if slowing things down gives us the godlike ability to see even the most intricate of details. This technology has been around for many years, but recently it has become far more affordable, and as a result, many more visuals from athletes to animals have been captured like never before. Ski Joring: Watching Cowboys Getting Weird

“Lets get weird.” It is a statement you hear from the best of the fringe; hessians, ruffians, goths, hipsters. Whether it be a silly outfit or a asinine dare, we all get weird sometimes. Cowboys, on the other hand, are more known for their down home normality.  They eat steak and potatoes, they fear god, they have good family values. Then again, every once in a while, they like to get weird too. Each March in Leadville, Colorado, skiers and cowboys (or cowgirls) team up, tie a long rope to a saddle and tow a skier down main street Leadville at high speed. The streets are lined with spectators banging on cowbells, cheering, hooting and hollering as the duos make their way from one end of main street to the other, slaloming their way through a course that gives even the best skiers a run for their money. Extreme Helicopter Filming & First Decent of Bell Ringer

The steep mountain slopes are beginning their yearly call to all adventurers. This crazy video captures the first decent of Bell Ringer near Haines, Alaska, where the only way to the top is by helicopter and the “landing pad” isn’t even big enough to land: they stick a partial skid into the mountain top while skiers Reggie Crist and Chris Coulter deftly jump onto the minuscule peak. Film Keeps Nature from Going Downhill

Merging a love of the environment with one for intense downhill skiing, The Sherpas recently released their beautiful and inspiring All.I.Can Teaser: a two-year feature film project. The film aims to unite people from the global mountain culture and bring them together as the leaders of a revolution that will encourage others to take steps towards doing all they can for the environment.
