Nadine-Boughton 9

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of reading a mid-century men’s adventure magazine, you’ll immediately recognize their place in Nadine Boughton’s work. Ryan Heshka’s otherworldly tributes to Golden Era sci-fi pulp novels have a campy, retro feel all his own. The colorful, acrylic on wood panel works, intimately explore themes of man vs. nature and man vs. technology… often looking at the disastrous consequences of their meeting. Each is heavily varnished and tagged with cut pieces from the pulp fiction of their inspiration, lending the appearance of book covers long forgotten.
