3D Sculpt in Virtual Reality With an Oculus Rift, Then 3D Print It

The ultimate dream for many designers is to quickly make objects with their hands, but the real world has some real limits. Enter VRClay, an application that lets you sculpt in the air using an Oculus Rift virtual reality headset and Razer Hydra gaming controllers. Just like building something with tools, this software would allow intuitive 3D model creation in a building space, almost like real life. It’s a fantastic leap into the future of creativity.

An Out-of-Body Experience, in Real-Time – Using an Oculus Rift and GoPros

You’re probably familiar with the 3rd person view in all sorts of video games… even Mario Kart used it. With a viewpoint placed just behind and above the character you’re playing, it gives you a clear understanding of where you are in a virtual space – something a first person view doesn’t always communicate so clearly. Now, two Polish designers have created that unusual perspective in real life – thanks to an Oculus Rift, and two GoPros mounted high on a custom backpack.
