Mommy blogger Angie, who gives her 4 year old daughter the nickname Mayhem to preserve some anonymity, noticed early on that her daughter was into fashion far more than a typical toddler. Mayhem withdrew interest from her pre-made princess dresses and started using Angie’s scarves and sheets to create her own dresses. In attempt to restore order in her closets, Angie suggested that they make dresses together out of paper. Mayhem was hooked and still is 9 months later, which is an eternity in toddler time, leading us to believe this is more than just a phase. Angie started the hashtag #fashionbymayhem and has begun gathering a following of people who can’t wait to see what the two will come up with next. [Read more...]

How do you keep connected with your kids while traveling? For a Redditor going by the name Tatsputin, the answer is coloring in his children’s drawings while he’s flying out of state. It’s hard to tell who is having more fun with this creative game: the parents or the kids. Parents Susan and Refe Tuma of Kansas City, MO came up with this “Dinovember” project to let their kids experience a little wonder and mystery, which is becoming increasingly less common in today’s technological world. The kids respond with shock, bewilderment, and laughter as they wake up to find their toy dinos in hilarious situations. In early November the mischievous reptiles were caught spray-painting cartoons on the wall in the living room and the Tuma’s 6-year-old said that they might need to have a garage sale to sell the plastic dinosaurs. Kids Halloween Costumes- 1 Ghostbusters

Trick or treat! Although it’s probably past the time when you would be deciding what to dress your kids up as for Halloween, we thought it might brighten your day to see some hilarious kids costumes. Although some of the characters they portray are not kid-friendly (I would hope no child has seen Silence of the Lambs or Breaking Bad) and likely based more on their parents’ favorite movies and television shows, it’s pretty entertaining to see children in these roles. If I saw trick-or-treaters dressed in some of these costumes I might just have to pour my whole bowl of candy into their bag! [Read more...]
