Guerrilla Designers Create Elaborate Quote Art on Chalkboards

The Columbus College of Art and Design has a vandal on the loose. The guerrilla chalk art duo called #DangerDust has been commandeering classroom chalkboards in secret and creating detailed artworks of typography and design. Their creations feature inspirational quotes by famous figures. The two anonymous students plan, sketch, and execute their chalk art and, in true guerrilla style, leave the board balancing on chairs in the classroom for a Monday morning surprise.

96-year Old Man Writes a Song for his Deceased Wife of 75 Years and Enters It Into a Contest

When a 96-year-old man named Fred recently entered a song writing contest, he admitted that he couldn’t sing and had never even played an instrument… but that didn’t stop him from submitting. He simply sent a letter with the song he’d written about his wife of 75 years. Lorraine had passed away just a month before, and Fred couldn’t help but write a fitting tribute to the woman he loved so much. His song is called Oh Sweet Lorraine.

When asked what would you grab if you only had time to get one thing out of your home before it was destroyed, what would you take? The most common answer after people and pets is pictures. Pictures are one of the few things that are truly irreplaceable. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Jeannette Van Houten was walking along the shore of Union Beach where her home and 200 others were devastated by the storm. She noticed a photograph on the ground of a couple attending a wedding and instantly realized her mission.

When people first encounter 88 year old Johnny Barnes, standing on a traffic island, waving his arms and blowing kisses at the many cars driving by, they probably wonder about his sanity. Yet, this charming and youthful fellow has more wisdom to share about life and love than almost anyone you’ll encounter. Each day, Barnes spends 6 hours, rain or shine, waving to cars, sharing love with passerby and doing his very best to better the world through his presence.
