We’ve all read tweets that make us chuckle out loud- sometimes at an inappropriate time, but there’s something even funnier about visualizing these scenarios. Twaggies is like a museum for hilarious tweets so that they can reach those who may not have seen them in their Twittersphere. Using crowdsourcing, the team at Twaggies find the funniest tweets and transform them into uproarious comics. Email info@twaggies.com if you or someone you follow on Twitter has said something that would be perfect in cartoon form. [Read more...]

Animals Getting Down to Business

A-New-Era-for-Gas

You and me baby ain’t nothin’ but mammals, yet we’ve let corporate greed and politics drive our species apart. Canadian artist Tony Taylor illustrates how he sees world economic forums and other well-publicized events that invite “world leaders and corporations to bump elbows, share anecdotes and discuss economic philosophy, disregarding any opportunity for public participation or representation.” By replacing the leaders’ heads with the animals that he thinks better represent their character, Taylor has created a series of paintings that are just as silly as the events they portray. Taylor’s paintings align with the opinion of a political scientist and activist named Howard Zinn who he quotes in his artist statement, “Art moves away from reality and invents something that may be ultimately more accurate about the world than what a photograph can depict.” [Read more...]

According to edotmag, Naman got the idea for this project last year at Christmastime when his assistant Joe Godfrey used the tape from his present to bend his nose in a silly way. Godfrey was a good sport and let Naman tape up his face in crazy ways for some good laughs and photos. Michal Dziekan Illustrations 8

Machal Dziekan has a talent for looking at society’s fringes through a hilariously dynamic lens. In this case Santa isn’t even safe. [Read more...]
