This Preschooler is Doing Impressive Yoga with Her Mom

There’s plenty of hype about ‘couples yoga’ but what if your partner was your pre-school aged child? That’s the team we see here – yogo instructor Laura Kasperzak busting out some impressive moves with her very young daughter. We Love Friday! CrossFit- Take It to the Limit

With 6,100 affiliate gyms around the world, CrossFit, started by Greg Glassman, is quickly becoming a household name in fitness. You may have seen friends on Facebook proudly flaunting their newly toned bodies and wondered what CrossFit is all about. Unlike a typical gym, a CrossFit “box” does not have any weight machines- your body is the machine. There are ropes, bars, rowing machines, Olympic weights, kettlebells, jump ropes, gymnast rings, medicine balls, plyo boxes, and gigantic tires. CrossFit encourages “constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement.” Each day there is a different WOD (Workout of the Day) and participants constantly strive to beat their own records in time, reps, and/or weight. The most athletic and motivated CrossFitters go on to compete regionally for a chance to go to the international CrossFit Games. In honor of all the people pushing themselves beyond their physical limits, we searched Instagram for some awesome CrossFit pictures to show what it’s like. It took a lot of sifting through ripped up hands because these workouts are no joke, but we hope this collection will motivate you to kick your fitness up a notch.

Working Out In The Workplace

It’s no secret that Americans spend quite a bit of time at their desk while they’re at work, but did you realize that it’s close to roughly a third of their entire time spent there? Exercise is a vital and important aspect of a healthy lifestyle and anything you can do to keep yourself fit will help you out in the long run. Just because you’re in a cubicle and not out on the field or court doesn’t mean there still aren’t things you can do at work to stay fit.

InfographiKids: Live-Action Visualization With Kids

We’ve seen a lot of unusual ways to represent infographics lately, from in-the-field visualization tool-kits to a DIY stencil for pie-charts, it seems the ways to represent data is nearly limitless. This new advertisement for Canadian organization Active for Life, sees school children using their bodies to demonstrate the dwindling level of fitness in Canadian schools. While the precision of the data visualization may be inherently a little on the fuzzy side, the execution and over-all communication from the technique is spot-on. Check out those colorful arms!
