Photographer Tells of His AIDS Diagnosis, Captures Moving Reactions From Loved Ones

When photographer Adrian Chesser was diagnosed with AIDS, he didn’t choose to hide the illness, become bitter or curl up in shame. He chose to be transparent and in the process stimulate emotional creativity. Chesser had many close and supportive friends and family, and he decided to call them individually to his place to tell them the news and then take their portraits moments after. They were not aware of the project prior, which he decided to title “I Have Something To Tell You.”
