Don’t Fall in this Ring of Fire!

Stepping over the rim of Nyiragongo Crater, the worlds largest lake of molten lava comes into view. In June 2010, a group of brave explorers photographed the sloshing, red hot pool in the heart of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Great Lake Region. Photographer Olivier Grunewald made it within mere meters of the edge, which frequently overflows, bringing back images never before seen.
