Paint a Hole in that Wall! German Street Artist “1010” Creates Colorful Street Art Illusions

Here’s a different take on street art – german artist 1010 is painting convincing, colorfully banded holes in walls. The simple technique looks a lot like the work of a growing number of paper artists who are creating similarly layered artworks, but 1010 is reproducing that 3D technique on the flat. Even though they’re being painted on concrete walls, these pieces look real enough to reach inside and touch some color.

Incredible 3D Illustrations Jump Out of the Sketchbook

Every now and again, we come across a piece of art that we can’t even begin to wrap our heads around. These sketches by Nagai Hideyuki are the perfect example. The 21 year old artist from Japan creates drawings that seem to leap out of the sketchbook before your very eyes. It’s amazing to see what can be done with just a pencil and paper and the right angle for capturing a photo. The way he uses lighting, shading, and anamorphosis to create these 3D images is reminiscent of MC Escher but even more mind-blowing.

3D Elevator Illusion Shocks London Shoppers

If you saw a warning sign outside an elevator shaft, would you still press the button and wait for the doors to open, or would you take the stairs? In the case of one London elevator, if you did wait, you’d notice that when the doors opened the floor was completely gone, exposing all the inter workings of the elevator shaft below. Would you take the stairs then, or would you take the risk of your life?
