Thursday 04.05.2012 , Posted by

In southern California we hear about a water crisis every year around springtime, when the cold is being flung away and our bones are ready to defrost in the warmth of the sun. Each year we hear about the water crisis, but what does that mean? The average American household seems to think that water flows from the faucet in nearly endless quantities, but while most people don’t think that water is something we’re in danger of losing anytime soon, this graphic shows why water quantity and quality should be a top issue. The four major components of the issue covered here: consumption, conservation, quality, infrastructure, and their interconnectedness. [Read more...]

Young Adults: The Future of Social Activism

Monday 03.26.2012 , Posted by

The profound impact social media has had on our society (and the world) in the past years has led people to take it far more seriously and think differently about how it can affect social issues. Not only are people sharing content with family and friends, but they’re standing up and supporting issues they feel strongly about. Two years later the study has been updated, and insights into engaging this crucial audience of pro-social consumers, as well as ideas about creating a better world have been found. [Read more...]

Friday 03.23.2012 , Posted by

The title of this infographic by Massive Health reads like it was lifted off an episode of the hit TV show, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader: Are Bananas Really As Bad For You As Cookies? Why would anyone ask if a banana is better for you than a cookie? It’s such a noob move, and the answer is such a no brainer — something even a 5th grader can get right. Imagine you’re sitting in your living room watching the show, Jeff Foxworthy pops this question and you instinctively shout at the television, “The cookie is way worse than the banana!” You pat yourself on the back proudly, confident in your answer. But, is it really? (cue Twilight Zone music). [Read more...]
