For the 2016 holiday season, LEGO recently released the Star Wars advent calendar featuring mini figures like Luke Skywalker from Return of the Jedi and an exclusive white Chewbacca. The set includes 8 minifigures in all with the theme centering around the ice planet Hoth and builds featuring the Echo Base along with a selection of vehicles and weapons. Using the figurines and builds included in the kit, photographer Markus Land constructed a series of photos showcasing the characters as they engage in activities like ice hockey or just surveying the icy planet.
Check out some of his images below:
“One of the Rebel Warriors stationed at the Echo based on Hoth uses one of the Atgar turrets to fend off the onslaught of the Empire, while the white-hued Chewbacca looks on.”
“The Slave-1, the ship of infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett, used by him to transport the frozen Han Solo to the palace of Jabba the Hut.”
“A Stormtrooper and a Snowtrooper, one of the troopers specially trained and equipped for arctic environments, center in the thick of the battle.”
“A few Stormtroopers and Luke Skywalker, taking a much deserved respite from the unceasing battles, play a gentlemanly game of ice hockey (the skates and the hockey sticks come from the included sleigh minibuild).”
“TIE Interceptors were developed to provide the Empire with a faster fighter than the original TIE model. Defended the second Death Star at the Battle of Endor.”
“U-3PO was a protocol droid stationed on the Tantive IV. U-3PO was secretly a spy for the GAlactic Empire, leading to the Tantive IV’s capture by Darth Vader.”
“Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, as he appears in Return of the Jedi: no longer a naive farm boy, or impetuous apprentice out of his depth, he has mastered the ways of the Force, faces his adversaries with the cool confidence of a Jedi Master, preparing for his ultimate confrontation with Darth Vader—his father.”
“The most famous of Wookies, Chewbacca fought for the Galactic Republic on his home planet, Kashyyk, as the end of the Clone Wars. Some years later, he met the smuggler Han Solo and became his co-pilot on the Millennium Falcon.”
