Coffee Portraits On Ledger Paper Are Crazy Beautiful

A coffee portrait series created by artist Michael Aaron Williams is a captivating and emotional collection painted on used ledger papers dating back to the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. In his artist statement, Williams says his “art is a narrative, visual poetry, making a social statement to move the viewer to action or realization.”

An accomplished street artist, Williams is able to portray the fragile beauty of street people, bringing their circumstances to light so that they will not be set aside or abandoned. This ability also translates in his gallery pieces. Williams explains that through his paintings and drawings, he hopes to illustrate the fragile nature of life, purity, and culture.
