Forget your boring drive: Spain’s ‘Truck Art Project’ is using the side of Palibex commercial vehicles and transforming them into a rolling art gallery. With the help of the art scene, Spain’s trade routes will be populated by colorful vehicles carrying creative inspiration and culture for all to see.
Thus far 10 trucks have been painted by recognizable artists including Javier Arce, suso33, Abraham Lacalle, Marina Vargas, Javier Calleja, Daniel Muñoz and Okuda San Miguel (who painted that off-the-hook skate church). As the project has 90 other proposals in the works, this is just the beginning. Over the next months, more trucks will be painted, added to the ’Truck Art Project’ fleet, and put on the road.
The project is a collaboration between Jaime Colsa, owner of the Palibex trucking company and iam Gallery Madrid. You can find out where the trucks will be next, and see fantastic videos of their creation (in Spanish) at Truck Art Project.
See interviews with each artist (in Spanish) and videos of their work on the project website.
