The 1989 Pontiac Stinger is the most ridiculous ‘80s concept car you will ever see. Covered with fluorescent green paint, it was an outdoor fun mobile and absolutely PACKED with cool ‘80s gadgets.
What was inside? More stuff than your apartment.
It included ice chests mounted on the doors, two “cellular phones,” a CD player, a detachable AM/FM stereo, a tool case, a first aid kit, a flashlight, an extension cord, a camp stove, a table and chairs (that popped out of the car seats), bike bags, a garden hose and two freaking vacuums.
The design was aimed at taking on the exploding sport utility market, so the marketing included plenty of active people on the beach in very loud colors.
