If 2015 Really Had ‘Back to the Future’ Technology, This is What it Would Look Like

The Back to the Future franchise turns 30 this year. Not only that, but the year Marty McFly travels to in the second film was October 21st, 2015.

If you’re keeping track, that’s… tomorrow.

Honestly, it’s pretty ‘heavy’ how little we’ve accomplished in three decades. No flying cars. Our hoverboards are a gimmick. Pizza’s don’t come dehydrated in teeny-tiny boxes. Thankfully French digital artist Nicolas Amiard has brought us up to speed with this series of animated GIFs which bring Back to the Future II tech into the real-life 2015 world.

Here Amiard has made the latest Ford Mustang fly, hoverboards look no different than our current skateboards (only the wheels are noticeably missing), and that hologram for Jaws 19? It’s been replaced by the Indominus rex from Jurassic World.

See? Now everything’s right with the world.
