Over one third of the world is currently connected through the internet. As more and more people are able to use this tool, more knowledge is being shared and more people are able to network to solve the world’s toughest problems. Some governments are enforcing regulations to filter and censor content and take away the free, open internet that we have grown accustomed to. This month, “the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is bringing together regulators from around the world to re-negotiate a decades-old communications treaty. Proposed changes to the treaty could increase censorship and threaten innovation.” We need to keep the regulation of the internet in the peoples’ hands rather than allow it to be another government tool for mind control. Sign this petition today to keep the internet free and open.
