Americans: Not Too Spooked to Splurge on Halloween

Creepy Ghosts, Boney Skeletons, and Brain Eating Zombies will be shelling out the dough this Halloween. Halloween is arguably one of the greatest times of the year, and the only time you have free reign to scare the living bejesus out of your friends, and vice-versa. Carving pumpkins, planning your costume, and decorating the house are all things that get you in the mood for the season.

Halloween is the spookiest celebration of the year, and has some of the most rocking parties you’ll ever see. There’s also another large group of people who’ve had kids and can’t party like they used to — they’ll be going trick-or-treating. Don’t forget the costume parties. All that time and preparation you put into that perfect costume is worth it when the 1st Prize trophy is placed in your hands. All of these preparations for the spooky night add up, with total Halloween spending expected to reach $8 Billion. Which means that people aren’t too spooked to splurge on Halloween, see where all the money goes below.
