The wise Bruce Lee once said, “Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.” But Beavis and Butt-head said it even better when they said “Yes, yes, fire, he he! Fire is cool!” Uniquely hominid, our ancestors of the species homo erectus are thought to have made the first fires over a million years ago. And although millions of years have passed and we have fascinating screens to look at now, it’s still pretty amazing to stare at a fire. That’s why we’ve dedicated this week’s We Love Friday post to bonfires![see_also]
There’s nothing better than snuggling up to a nice, warm bonfire on a beautiful fall night. And there’s nothing more fun than trying to get the smell of it out of your hair and clothes the next day. Thank you so much to all of our wonderful We Love Friday participants who submitted bonfire pictures and the Instagrammers we found! If you like a picture, be sure to click on the link to find out more and show them some love. Next week’s theme will be #Fall, so put on your jacket and snap a gorgeous autumn shot on your smartphone, upload it to Instagram, and tag it #fall and @visualnews. The best pics will be featured next Friday. On behalf of Visual News, we would like to wish each one of you a fantastic weekend and thank you for reading.
