For many of us it’s hard to imagine what it would be like to live off the land on a farm like many of our ancestors had to do. Today some people are completely detached from the source of their food and don’t even think twice about where it came from. To thank the farmers that have helped our country thrive we collected some fantastic farm images from Instagram that will have you wishing you could put on some overalls and roll around in the hay!
If you’re thinking of getting back to your roots and living more sustainably, there is a great organization called WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) that will teach you the tricks of the trade. Organic farmers all around the world have joined WWOOF and allow visitors to stay with them- providing food, accommodation and learning opportunities in exchange for volunteer help on the farm.
