At one point in life, one must ask the question: “who’s the boss, me or my cat?” These felines have a strong attitude and they are the bosses of their respective homes. If you stroke them the wrong way you’re on your way to receiving a nice new scratch mark on those expensive jeans you bought last week. They will let you know real quick who the boss is.

Created by Laura Wiet, her boyfriend and their friend Zac, Boss Cats is a website that was initially created to show pictures of their own cats, who acted like boss’s daily in their apartment. From their own photos, they created a Tumblr and Instagram, and started receiving pictures of other peoples cats in their “Bosslike” state. Here is a selection of twelve cats, picked by Laura and crew. Accompanied with the photos are comments from the owners, or rather “subordinates of the Bosscats.” If you want to send in your own Bosscat shots, check out the website and send them to Laura. In a month, we may consider another top twelve Bosscats. Enjoy.
Spielbergo is Laura’s cat who started it all. He was a wanderer in the mountains of Vancouver and now he’s Laura’s. She says he’s the cutest cat ever and plays hard to get. He acts like he doesn’t want to hang out with you but really he does. Spielbergo hugs her neck almost every night and tries to give Laura dreadlocks by clawing her hair. Apparently, he doesn’t meow but rather screams and he almost always gets his way. Spielbergo inspired the boss cats movement.
Harold is about a year and a half old, he was adopted from a family that had a litter they couldn’t keep. Like most cats he likes lazing around most of the day on the screened in porch. His favorite ice cream flavor is mint chocolate chip, and he’s quite the talker. Meet Harold.
Daisy is an 11 year old Persian. She is the nicest cat in the world, even though she looks extremely mad in the picture! She loves going outside; only to eat grass that will probably throw up later. Otherwise she just lays around the house sleeping. She loves eating dairy products like cheese, ice cream, and milk. She also likes kitty treats, ham, and turkey. She’s a spoiled cat! She’s a very happy kitty and loves looking after her owners kitty princess, a white American Long Hair. She also has another kitty sister Missy, another American Long Hair. Daisy secretly loves being the center of attention and is super respectful to adults and kids. She also likes staring at bugs and birds. She acts like she’ll attack them, but won’t… She’s too much of an indoor cat! She’s such a cutie! She also snorts a lot, in a cute way
We live in Brazil. Bento is the orange one and the older of them. Nico is the ragdoll and Bibi is the siamese. They are lovely and they are very friendly. I have another cat, Nina and she is a white Persian. I rarely take pictures of her because she is very shy and she is hidden all the time.
My cat Knut is a 5 year old tabby Persian, whose complete name actually is Knut av (of) Dakina Biral. He is very gentle and nice, but is not a fan of lap time – if any humans want to cuddle him, he prefers to have it done from a safe distance. He stays indoors larger parts of the year, and because we live in a cold place, that’s fine with him. Once a dog came to visit. Knut was disgusted and simply turned his to the creature and left. If he’s outside he has to be watched, because he likes to run away. Not too far though – he just hides and takes pleasure in looking at people yelling his name while they search frantically.
Boris is a 2 year old Scottish fold who lives in London. He thinks he is “The Master!” He loves his human slave, eating chicken, plastic bags, chasing squirrels, hiding, climbing trees, giving low and high fives while standing on his back paws (just like meerkats do), watching television, jumping into the car and enjoying car rides, while always looking out the window. He likes everything that produces noise (cd-players, printers, shredders etc) and always tries to push various buttons to see if he can print something or switch on a CD, and his tactics work most often.
This is Shammy, she’s a newer addition to the Bosscat collection and enjoys stretching to show her authority over the house.
Her name is Zoey and she just turned 1. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, she now lives here in Chattanooga. She was my wife’s birthday gift last year when she was little bitty and now she’s grown into this huge adorable ball of fluff. She’s very loving and loves to give us kisses. No insect that enters our house stands a chance against her either!
This is my friend Zacs boss, Zappa. This is the softest most docile Bosscat ever! He likes to be handled, and enjoys resting in super awkward positions. He likes being held a LOT by Zac not by me

Mr. Meowgi is 10 months old. He’s basically our child. He rules the house. He loves his morning bowl of milk and any toy that has bells.
Prince is a one and a half year old flame point himalayan and he sure has earned his name. He believes everyone should treat him like a prince, he insists he be fed whenever he pleases and he’ll meow at me until i do so he follows me to the bathroom and pushes the doors open if I close them, he’s strictly an indoor cat cause he’s afraid of everything He only likes to be touched and cuddled on his terms, which frankly is not often but he’s my baby and my whole word so we put up with his bossy ways.
Sjanulleke is unique and lives in Holland. Tabby cats are usually male and are known for being fierce. So you can imagine what happens when you combine this trait with a female gender? Sjanulleke is sweet but can be surprisingly sassy and evil at particular moments. Especially when she is sucking up all the love and attention from her “owner. In the heat of the moment she can give bites, some which can be quite painful! We prefer to name them “lovebites” because she doesn’t mean any real harm. In the end she is a lady and a boss.

Awww, Boris is well pleased to be on here – I can see more bossiness coming up!
