Classic Paintings Get Remixed On the Turntable

Before throwing out his old record player, Israeli artist Tamir Sher decided to unleash his creativity and use it as a photography prop. In his series Masters on 45s, Sher placed reproduced images of classic paintings on a turntable and photographed them at different speeds, creating a contemporary spin on the classics. The new version retains the same colors of the original piece and a vague resemblance of the image, but the blur of the spin makes them look hypnotic and surreal.

Sher also used his turntable technique on his son’s action figures and pinwheels; check them out here. You can follow him on Twitter and Facebook and see other projects on his website.
