Made for TV: Television’s Most Excellent Roommates

We’ve all had our fair share of roommates. Having the right one can enhance your life tremendously, and account for hours and hours of ridiculous conversation and hilarious hijinks. Being stuck with the wrong roommate can turn your life into an awkward living hell, where the torment of not getting along, mixed with the continuous stream of passive aggressive notes about inconsequential things, will drive you to the brink of jumping straight off a bridge. Because of these polar extremes, roommates have always made great content for television.

Some of TV’s greatest moments have come from the pairing of responsible characters with eccentric, self-involved roommates for laughs. There have been tons of pairings, and this infographic created by MyMove takes a look at a few of the best. First we have the Besties: Troy and Abed from Community. The “bromance” between these two can be cut with a knife. They finish each other’s sentences and check in with each other every couple of hours — even though they spend practically their entire day together. Then we have the Wacky Ones: Frank and Charlie from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. There couldn’t be a more different pairing, but their hijinks always cause a laugh. Whether it’s Frank coming up with some new scheme to make a bit of cash, or Charlie huffing glue and coming up with Kitten Mittens, there is never a dull moment between these two. Check out the rest of the roommate pairings below.
