Interactive Street Art Comes to Life

Transforming the urban landscape into his own personal playground, Robin Rhode creates two-dimensional renderings of everyday objects which creatively become 3-dimensional ones… but, they are far more than that. Rhode uses his creations to act out interactive performances, often making photographic compositions which show multiple views of the same object as he interacts with it or creating digital animations which bring the scene to life in motion.

In one example, Rhode’s Stone Flag, the artist arranges multi-colored bricks and a stick into the shape of a flag. Then, laying on the ground, garbed in white, the artist takes multiple images of himself as he “waves” the flag. Effectively, Rhode transforms his heavy medium into something light, flowing and mobile.
