Ren Hang likes to push boundaries. Based out of Beijing, Hang delivers images displaying the Chinese spirit as it continues to be unleashed in this massively transitional period.

“Beijing has changed so much, since the Olympics, people feel a new freedom and liberation from the strict rules that exist in the society.” – Beijing Artist and contemporary of Hang, Lu Quang

Through Hangs images, emotion and sexuality are expressed in a time where it is slowly becoming accepted to discuss and share what it so inherently human in everyone, yet has been buried deep in a culture where saving face and shame are powerful motivators to keep quiet.

Hang has been doing “counter cultural” photography for a few years now. Here we bring you his latest set of images released last week.
