Beautiful Honda Ad: It All Started with a Motorcycle

I dare you not to love this new ad from Honda South Africa. Created in the same wrapping animated style as the overwhelmingly beautiful music video for Danger Beach’s Apache, the short piece looks at the storied and successful history of Honda and their many products. I’ve watched this 5 times and it still looks gorgeous.

Whether you like Honda or not, this ad certainly does a great job featuring the many motorized products the company produces… they’ve really got their hands in everything. The piece playfully features their lawn mowers, motorcycles, gas powered pumps, outboard motors, generators, cars, quads, the new Hondajet and even a cameo by the famous Asimo robot… all experienced through a walking protagonist featuring an iconic Honda Wing helmet. Seamlessly intermixed in the wrapping animation are photographic scenes from Honda’s history, mostly motorcycle racing.

The video, directed by Ned Wenlock, obviously employs his brilliant animation style from the music video for Apache by Danger Beach. That mesmerizing video took off virally and has clearly garnered him much attention. It’s just proof and encouragement that your smaller design projects can eventually pay off in big ways.

The mesmerizing original video for Apache, by Danger Beach. Head to Dream Damage for a ‘name your price’ download of their excellent album.
