For fans of wildly evocative music, it doesn’t get much better than the combined talents of Hillary Hahn and Hauschka. The duo, a beautifully skillful American violinist and German master of the prepared piano respectively, have teamed up on their latest album Silfra to produce some highly moving and experimental pieces. The music video to their latest song Bounce Bounce, is just as beautiful as the music.

We’ve covered Hauschka and his music videos before, looking first at a performance of one of his intricately prepared pianos and the beautifully strange music they produce. Then we covered the retro-cinematic music video for his song “Children.” This new collaborative work takes the scene underwater, producing a stop motion extravaganza of craftily fashioned sea creatures. Looking a lot like footage from the BBC’s Planet Earth, stop-motion extraordinaire Hayley Morris created a watery world out of everything from paper to felt and maple tree seed pods. It’s a gorgeously executed work which matches well with the music and perfectly channels the look and feel of the ocean. After you marvel at the end result, be sure to see her process video below.
