Creating Trippy Portraits by Drawing on Faces

These intriguing portraits take normal head-shots and transform them into something completely artistic and trippy. U.K. based artist Ewa Mos (aka Moscva) takes her bright, crisp images and adds hand drawn details over her subjects faces. The result transforms them into otherworldly beings with oddly textured skin to match: wood grain, extra hair, melting skin and more.

Mos’ work revolves around her bright, punchy and often squiggly illustration style, which is directed by her love of, as she puts it, “skulls, hearts and skulls!” She hand draws the details of her works, then transfers them to a digital format and adds her bold sense of color. Besides this series, titled Face Book (each with the tag line “We Are Different”), she has created a number of other visually imaginative photo remixes (some of which we’ve included here) and has done lot of work in other mediums, from screen printing to painting and animation. Her work is definitely worth a close look: find more at ewamos.com or follow her on Facebook.
