All the Wild Horses

Tuesday 04.24.2012 , Posted by

Where would we be without horses? Think of everything that humans have used them for since the beginning of civilization- farming, travel, sports, and military. It’s no wonder that they have been an inspiration for artists for centuries. Though we are not as reliant on horses as we once were, there is still something enthralling about their strength and beauty. South African photographer Andrew McGibbon has created a collection to honor the horse for all that it has done to make human life possible. Each image is distinct and shows an emotional depth and personality.

Painstakingly lit, this body of work is about the horse itself to which we all feel a connection, whether it’s obvious or deep down in our collective subconscious. There is a sense of awe that this beast inspires in each and every one of us.

As you peruse through McGibbon’s collection, you can’t help but feel a sense of appreciation for all that this animal has done for us. Andrew McGibbon’s photography has a way of “blur[ring] the line between commercial and fine art”. Check out more of this collection and more in his online gallery. You can also follow him on Behance and Facebook.
