When trying to think of the most romantic city in the world, most people would guess Paris, but it turns out that London has had more Valentine’s Day hotel and travel bookings than any other European city. So for the cover of the St. Valentine’s special issue of Evening Standard magazine, which featured an article about this, visual designer Charis Tsevis created a beautiful illustration. The design featured a heart mosaic formed by an actual map of London. According to Tsevis, the image was
“made with custom developed scripts, hacks, and lots of love, using my Mac, Studio Artist, the Adobe Creative Suite and good music.”
The accomplished artist lives and works in Greece where he manages his own studio, “Tsevis Visual Design,” with clients including Toyota, Ikea, and Leo Burnett. When he’s not writing columns in the most respected design and computer magazines in Greece or publishing books about Adobe Photoshop, he also teaches Editorial Design and Typography at the AKTO College of Art and Design. And with all of this on his plate, I am so honored that he still found the time to make my icon! (check it out after the jump)
