Award-winning photographer, Ellie Davies asks the world to accompany her into a land of myth, magic and our own psyches with her exhibition “Come With Me.” Living and working in London, Davies finds her inspiration in The New Forest on the south coast of England. Viewing her photographs, one senses that Davies feels a personal connection with the landscape of the forest, at once a natural environment, but also one that has been effected by human civilization for thousands of years. Most often working alone, Davies alters the natural quality of the forest with materials such as wool and paint. She creates vibrantly-colored paths that seem to invite us to follow her into the inner workings of her mind, maybe even to her conclusion that landscape is a “social and cultural construct.” Her work is at once captivating and enlightening.
