Beauty Captured By Google Street View

It’s hard to believe these dreamy photographs came from the top of a speeding Google Street View car, but that’s just where photographer Aaron Hobson found them. The images follow in the footsteps of his ongoing “Cinemascapes” series, where like a landscape loving Cindy Sherman, he creates wide format images that appear to have jumped from the silver screen.

Hobson was born in what has been described as “Appalachia in the city”: the very poorest part of Pittsburg Pensilvania. “I’ve had my back fractured by baseball bats, been picked on, and did too many drugs before I was 14 and then dropped out of High School in the 10th grade,” he says of the experience. It was only in 2007 that he picked up his camera, deciding to creatively mix his memories with his imagination. Head to aaronhobson.com for larger images in his Google Street View series or to see his Cinemascapes.

  1. I was confused, where the hell in the Czech Republic is Saska town… It’s not a town/city, it’s a name of a street in Prague. Saská St., Prague, Czech Republic.
