Visual files of unusual bugs and beetles from his native Oaxaca got stuck in his mind like a database, says artist Sego y Ovbal. Sego, or Ovbal, draws and paints fantastical images of these and other things, along with large-scale graffiti style murals. His smaller, figurative compositions he signs as Sego; larger and more abstract murals he signs as Ovbal. No matter the size or subject matter, Sego y Ovbal’s work is always organic in form, colorful, and wonderfully detailed.
