Tattoo Art Meets Graphic Design

No Sailor Jerry or unicorns here, the tattoo designs of Peter Aurisch have a distinctly designer look to them; so incredibly different than the standard ink on the street. His work melds both modern and reinterpreted classic themes, often combining intricate line drawing with carefully chosen overlapping layers of bold color. cool from an artistic point of view, but 8 out of 10 wont hold the test of time IMO….too much greywash and color unsupported by black….neat, but it wont look good in 5 years.

sailor jerry and other traditional will (and has) stood the test of time b/c the tradional formula of black:grey or black:color is the exact ratio needed for a tattoo to hold up for long periods of time.

Absolutely incredible. Makes me rethink all my ideas for tattoos ever. Thank you for this.

good for him…very nice work and good seeing someone not bullied into being another cookie cutter of guy Aitchison, paul booth or sailor jerry clone. i wish there were more artists out there pushing our art rather than keeping the same crap circulating and hidding behindd cheap excuses as to why they can’t do the job.
