If you’re feeling patriotic since Obama’s recent political slam dunks there’s no better way to celebrate that attitude than sipping down some beer brewed from a founding fathers recipe! The New York Public Library recently made a deal with Coney Island Brewing Company to re-make George Washington’s personal recipe for small beer. The (sadly) one time only brew will be served at the library’s centennial celebration on May 23rd… but if you can’t make it to the event to sip the historical suds brew your own with the recipe below!
Washington’s handwriting deciphered:
To make Small Beer
Take a large Sifter full of Bran Hops to your Taste. – Boil these 3 hours. Then strain out 30 Gallons into a Cooler, put in 3 Gallons Molasses while the Beer is scalding hot or rather drain the molasses into the Cooler & strain the Beer on it while boiling Hot. Let this stand till it is little more than Blood warm. Then put in a quart of Yeast if the weather is very cold, cover it over with a Blanket & let it work in the Cooler 24 hours. Then put it into the Cask – leave the Bung[hole] open till it is almost done working – Bottle it that day Week it was Brewed.
The only thing Obama has ever done to make me feel patriotic was putting a bullet in Osama’s head. Other than that, he’s a country wrecker…

hey joe, have you found a job yet? if not, then you are an idiot. first things first, bush wrecked this country. obama inherited a giant mess that was bigger than the great depression. the fact that the economy is as good as it is now after just 4 years is a wonderful thing. im not going to pretend like i know everything that the government does and what the consequences of those actions are all the time, but bush was bad and obama is good. now, if you cant find a job, then you, sir, are not looking hard enough, are being too picky with what you want, or any other excuse that i made while being in a dead end job. long story short, the opportunity will come if you look for it and are patient.
