With protesters in Egypt still filling the streets, fighting in many Libyan cities and much of northern Africa in some state of upheaval, Visual News artist Robbie Douglas was inspired to create a pencil drawing, titled Breaking Chains, that illuminates the situation and it’s vast scale. He says:

“I wanted to do something regarding the situation in that region of the world that shows the power of citizenry confronting the ostensible power of government. Breaking of chains seemed to represent that well, and the use of the map intended to show the vastness and scale of the situation.”

Be sure to see Robbie’s other timely drawings, Mouth Zipped Shut and Kill Switch.
