Van Gogh’s Tilt-Shift Remix

Serena Malyon, a third year Illustration student at the Alberta College of Art and Design, has taken classic works by Van Gogh and given them a modern twist. Using Photoshop she has blurred areas of the paintings to create a tilt-shift effect that gives the images a whole new look of depth. While some people may consider these images artistic blasphemy, Malyon explains, “This was just meant as a fun exercise, so don’t take it too seriously! We thought the results were interesting and wanted to share them.” We’re so glad she did!

For more of her illustration work, see her website, smalyon.acadnet.ca, or to see larger versions of the work you’ll find them at artcyclopedia.com.
