There’s no Full Metal Jacket Director’s commentary, since you know Stanley Kubrick wouldn’t have recorded one but also he was dead before the movie was released on DVD. So I guess your little cartoon cinephile is a poser.
I’m a technophile. I don’t care about any of that other stuff, but I do obsess over aspect ratio, especially when the aspect ratio is incorrect. People always stretch out 4:3 material to 16:9 to “get more picture”. How can people watch something where everyone looks like Danny DeVito, and round objects are now ovals? How do that not drive other people crazy?! Do they have vision problems? Brain damage? HOW CAN THEY NOT SEE THAT IT’S WRONG?!
Kubrick doesn’t have a commentary track on “Full Metal Jacket”…
