The Disneyland Memorial Orgy Pisses Off Disney

Wally Wood, one of the original Mad Magazine illustrators, published this black and white picture in The Realist, an underground magazine, in 1967. According to an inside source at Disney, the company chose not to sue in order to dodge drawing attention to a potentially embarrassing court case.

When the drawing was bootlegged and turned into a black-light poster, however, Disney was not so cautious. To keep the image from reaching a potentially much larger audience than The Realist, the company filed a lawsuit and ultimately settled out of court.
